IMHO:  I must be strange because very few energy drinks or supplements do anything for me anymore.  I can chug a Monster or a Rock Star or whatever and very rarely feel a buzz.  And I’m starting to notice this with nitric oxide supplements.  Either that or SAN Fierce just doesn’t work for me.  One of the best things I like about this product is that its tag line is “Heart of a Lion,” like some awesomely awful ’80s big hair ballad or something.  When this first came in the mail that’s all I did, walkin’ around the house singin’ “Heart of a LI-yon!”  over…and over…and over again.  And to be sure the first couple times I took this I kinda sorta maybe didn’t really feel like I had the heart of a lion.  But now…meh.

A couple disclaimers.  Number one – the directions I believe say you should take this a half hour before your workout and on an empty stomach.  I rarely ever do this.  When I take my protein and if I feel the need to load up on an energy/arginine supp that means I have my workout clothes on and my water and my gum and I’m ready to go.  Very rarely would I ever take a supplement and then say to myself, “Well I got a half hour ’till this thing kicks in so I might as well sit around” or something.  Perhaps I’m being a bit demanding I’ll admit.  Number two – as said before, I take this with protein which might affect it.  I’ve read articles that say you should take your energy supp as direced about a half hour before you work out and then take your protein right before.  So…yeah.

So what am I saying?  I’m saying that I might be sabotaging the abilities of this product because I’m not taking it as directed.  And on that note I guess I’ll try it today exactly as suggested, but call me spoiled but I’d like to just pop it in and have heart of a lion from get-go.  In my opinion it doesn’t provide more energy than any other product of its type, and as to “pump and vascularity” this is also in my view negligible.

Aside from this I’d also say the taste is EXTREME (I bought “Tangy Orange”), and not in a very tasty way but for some reason I like it nonetheless.  Extremely sweet and tart, and I mean it.  I like this for some reason ’cause it makes me feel like it’s more hardcore, nonsense I know.

As to its actual nutritional content its got 4 g of creatines, 3.8 g of taurine and caffeine and other energy stuff (a good amount), 2.25 g of arginine stack and other usual goodies.  I like the fact that if you take this you should have all the creatine you need at 4 grams.  I also like the fact that a single tub has a good 50 servings, 10 more than usual with products of this type.  And the cost obviously is a real plus.

Bottom line I haven’t noticed that much of a difference from BSN NO Xplode or Dymatize Xpand, though take this with a grain of salt since I’ve never waited the recommended 30 minutes.  I like the price, I like the servings, but in terms of actual effectiveness my favorite continues to be Dymatize Xpand.

Next up, I’ll try Universal Nutrition’s Shock Therapy.  I’ve heard good things.

Addendum:

Since writing this review I’ve used Fierce on several more occasions, and each time using it as directed a full 30 minutes before working out.  And after doing so I’d say I can’t really recommend this product.  I’ve had times where I’ve felt awesome both during and after my workout, and times where I felt completely fatigued.  In other words, I’ve experienced just about the same highs and lows as if I’d taken nothing at all.  And while I’m confident that perhaps yeah Fierce does make a difference, to me it’s not enough to justify spending your money.  For this type of supplement my favorite would have to still be Dymatize Xpand.
